Seymour Board of Public Works and Safety: The Seymour Board of Public Works approved closing 3rd Street from Chestnut Street to the alley from Aug. 28 through Aug. 31 for the Seymour Museum Center’s annual gala. The board also approved the final invoices under the city’s Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation grant, which has now assisted 28 households with needed repairs and exhausted the grant funds. Road work is expected to wrap up on Jullian Drive and Glenbrook and move to paving the week after the May 28 meeting. Work has begun on the west side of Snyde Acres, while the 2026 CCMG program is expected to pause during the summer and resume in late summer. A proposed tent revival at Crossroads Park remains unresolved because of concerns about staking into the park’s sprinkler system; organizers must explore another securing method and report to the Parks Board on June 8.
