Seymour school board approves $1.28 million in construction payments and 2026-27 fuel contracts

Seymour school board: The Seymour Community School Corp. board unanimously approved $1,279,089.61 in construction claims tied to the 2025 bond, awarded propane to Stewart L.P. Gas at $1.559 per gallon, and approved fuel purchases from Premier Companies at rack price plus taxes and a 6-cent-per-gallon margin. The board also approved several donations, renewed a mental-health-services agreement with Centerstone, and authorized staffing changes for the coming school year. Meal prices at Seymour High School are set to remain $2.85 for paid lunches and free for students qualifying for reduced-price meals; K-8 students will continue under the Community Eligibility Provision. The board discussed, but did not finalize, a fall PSAT schedule change, handbook revisions, insurance quotes, transportation policies and other policy updates. The next board meeting is July 14, with teachers returning Aug. 3 and students Aug. 5.
